How can you leverage nature’s creation process for improving your own creativity?
In Europe, after a cold winter pause comes spring. Life starts flourishing again. Spring season is followed by a hot summer. Then the leaves turn yellow and red and nature goes to sleep again.
For a more creative brain trust nature and experiment with these 7 steps:
Make new combinations. Send a priming signal to your monkey brain. When being creative you do not have to come up with something completely new. It is totally okay to make new combinations of existing stuff.
Gather new material. Do your research. But pick only one book, one podcast. Choose one author and go deep. Digest it thoroughly.
Build a map. Doodle, scribble, draw a map. Link your thoughts on paper.
Pause. Do it like nature in winter. Slow down and pause. Give yourself permission to do so.
Allow your idea to return to you. Trust that at some point the idea will come back to your fresh mind. Notice what you notice. If it does not come back, let it be.
Ship and shape it. For any idea to succeed, you must ship it. You must plant the seed so the sun and water can do their magic work. Plant more seeds. Gather more feedback. Adapt. Shape. Improve. It’s a practice.
Trust nature. Always be testing. Not all seeds will sprout, grow and flourish. However, trust that the strongest idea will survive and thrive. It will be your most rewarding and most beautiful!
With love,
PS: If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
